Three phase Separator

Sanjack has more than 30 year’s experiences and equipped with class I, II & III pressure vessel production certificate. Leading products include tank, tower, furnace and structure parts. The annual production capacity is 10,000 tons.

Three-phase separator, also known as a three-phase horizontal separator, is a crucial piece of equipment used extensively in the oil and gas industry. Its primary function is to separate and purify three different phases: oil, gas, and water. This separation process is essential in optimizing production and ensuring the quality of the extracted hydrocarbons.

The three-phase separator is typically a large vessel constructed with various components to facilitate the separation process. It operates on the principle of gravity separation, utilizing the differences in density between the three phases. The heavier phase, water, settles at the bottom of the separator, while the lighter phases, oil and gas, rise to the top.

The separator consists of three main compartments, each dedicated to separating one of the phases. The first compartment, known as the gas compartment, collects and removes the gaseous phase from the mixture. This gas is then typically routed to a gas treating facility for further processing.

The second compartment, called the oil compartment, is responsible for collecting the oil phase. It traps any remaining gas bubbles and allows the oil to flow out through a separate outlet. The separated oil can then be further treated to remove impurities and prepared for transportation.

The last compartment, the water compartment, allows the water phase to settle at the bottom. It is equipped with a drain valve to remove the water from the separator. In some cases, this water can be reused in the production process or undergo additional treatment before disposal.

To aid in the separation process, additional equipment is often integrated into the three-phase separator. These include inlet devices, such as baffles and inlet diverters, to distribute the incoming flow evenly and prevent turbulence. Moreover, various sensors are installed to monitor parameters such as pressure, temperature, and level to ensure efficient operation and prevent any potential safety hazards.

Overall, the three-phase separator is an integral part of the oil and gas production process. It plays a vital role in separating the different phases, ensuring the quality and purity of the extracted hydrocarbons. Without this essential equipment, the production and transportation of oil and gas would be negatively impacted, leading to decreased efficiency and increased operational risks.
